I find your last paragraph confusing as you agree there is a supply shortage yet suggest demand is down based on driving past 3 coal mines. I would suggest this is a confusing comment as we know demand is increasing in relation to supply as the price is increasing.
I think speculation that demand is down is based on your drive past does not make any sense and for example some of the sales contracts could be for future deliveries etc
