If I am reading the announcement correctly 650,000 eligible shareholders and only 11,000 participants.

That's only 2% participation rate.

I figure many retail investors sniffed a dog of a SPP and said "thanks but no thanks".

I think after serious dilution with the money effectively flying out the door but with the increased shares on issue permanently hampering future EPS,
IAG will have a difficult road ahead, no more market darling rock star valuation.

Shares could still fall further

I will look at an entry level < $4.50 for long term hold. Insurance stocks on the nose for good reason but value appearing and tide will turn eventually. We all need insurance guys, and IAG, QBE are attractive at these levels
