    No, unfortunately hardly anyone gets it. If they did, we'd be seeing the next phase already.

    Great post. I agree with you, but in an attempt to keep an open mind I think there is a tiny possibility that Australia is only half way to the sub-prime crash the US has just experienced. The US got to 260% debt vs GDP, we're only at 160% right now. We also have room to lower interest rates further. The pessimist in me suspects we might follow the US mortgage market off the cliff even though we've already seen them fall off it ahead of us. As this forum proves, there still seems to be quite a few greater fools out there.
