The appointment was made on an interim basis for the purpose of finding the best person for the position. When he was appointed anyone who read the notice knew that once the person they wanted Steve would step down which he has. I have linked the notice:

The company continues to implement its strategic plan which with the signing of Renesas and NASA seems to be working.
