I can only speculate that, including Ganfeng, all Chinese Li producers want to diversify its supply because they do not want to see the pricing mechanism controlled by a small group of mineral suppliers. A huge lesson was learned by Chinese steel manufacturers during the last 15 years. Lithium is the future of energy sustainability. The Chinese is aiming for electricity price to go down to 4 cents/Kwh in the next 15 years and I can not imagine the impact of this price to the whole economy for China and the rest of the world.
