The start of your post made me laugh.

The example given by butcherboy was quite revealing and explains why many accept the proposition.
A greenhouse containing twice the C02 of another will become warmer than the other. That the earth therefore, apparently entirely synonymous with a very large greenhouse, must incontrovertibly also be warmer when C02 increases to me reveals the heart of the modelling fail.
The earth's climate changes a lot and ascribing the recent changes to human-related C02 emissions has become widely accepted. It may even be true, but it remains a challenge to incontrovertibly demonstrate it as a fact.
That's the only objection I have to it, that it becomes the accepted wisdom and so the truth of it, or otherwise, ceases to be pursued under a deluge of criticism that descends on any rational discussion of it.
Denigration of people who disagree is part of that effect. So is the faulty assumption that the believers are all disinterested, or neutral.
As far as denigrating anyone who disagrees, how about this one, which highlights some of the variables in such modelling:
