Ah well, I knew a WW11 veteran who had a large pre-war Buick and he fitted a wood-burning stove on the back to power it when little petrol was available. It worked amazingly. It's surprising what you can do in an emergency with a little ingenuity. In truth, I haven't however they are cutting down camphor laurels to chip and burn as "green" fuel in a local power station. It's not really green as it produces vast amounts of toxic fumes and is not cost effective anyway. It's just greenwash.
