No company, no matter the size, wants to spend 15 million on a machine if they don't have to. Maybe Archer will solve this due to the room temp operation of their tech..
at the moment there are very few practical applications for quantum computing. This may change rapidly however, and it will only get more accessible the cheaper the technology becomes. The more accessible the technology is, the more innovation will happen. I think the extreme cooling requirements is a huge bottleneck.
