The most important announcement made by the company lately was on March 3rd when they announced the establishment of a j/v with Robert Caisley. A few things from that announcement should be noted, Mr Caisley owns a library of 3000 films and docos that will be placed in the j/v and he has also signed an international distribution agreement with Warner Vision Aust. As well as this his company conducts a wholesale manufacture, replication and distribution of dvds business. So that is what Mr Caisley brings to the j/v. (it should also be pointed out that mr caisley in 1993 sold a large film library to magna pacfic, so it appears that he can pick the right films). MPC will contirbute for exploitation its extensive library of films (known as the 21st Century Film Library). This library is currently held on the balance sheet of MPC at $1.
I have been trying to find out exactly what the films are that make up the library but have so far been unable to do so. Knowing the films held in the library would be very useful to getting some idea of the value of the library and how well the dvds could be expected to sell.
