Dems dont tackle gun control very frequently because the nra beats them every time
basically they have a mass killing - Dems say something should be done - 2nd amenedment lobby swings its club of influence - down it goes
to make serious changes to gun control in the US the Dems will likely need 67 seats on the Senate
until they have that - or somehow enough republicans decide time is up - it will be a nonsense argument over background checks and criminal background ineligibility
Australians cant understand - even many Democrats see gun rights as a core individual right
You have to go and live or travel for a fair duration there for a while to get it
in places where yanks seem relatively normal culturally - say minnesota, michigan - this is still a widespread conviction
