I shared a post late last year using an example of a Global ETF fund that invest in Aus mining stocks and trying to explain the correlation between funds and their influence of volume, liquidity & short term sentiment.
Just did a quick review and of Global X Gold Explorers ETF and noticed that they have slightly increased their holdings of Aus Mining/Exploration stocks. This also correlates with the recent increases in long gold futures contracts from the managed funds. An approximate 10% increase across the board.
This is just one of hundreds of funds that invest in Aus mining stocks. It's money from funds that rapidly marks up prices over a short period of time. When money from managed funds start flowing back into the sector we should see an aggressive retracement back to previous highs.
Hopefully maintains the frequency of announcements, not for the spastic traders, but to gain more attention so that we make it onto the portfolios of more funds.
