    I think the reality is we all have to learn to use less energy and source more of it from wind, sun, etc. I accept this is expensive, but the "cheap" alternative takes no account of the environmental costs of pumping more CO2 in the air. Obviously a lower population assists in reducing CO2 output.

    I am a strong believer in peak oil and note the oil price has just hit $50 again. The reality is that oil is finite and as you note, the US, UK and many other countries are producing below peak levels. Have put my money where my mouth is as well - apart from a small MQG holding, all my shares are in energy producers.

    I agree outlook is pessimistic
