To the average motorist who buys a car say every 7 years or so and at that it is
likely to be secondhand.
While we have manuals, Std Autos, and double clutch jobs, the CVT seems
seems to be the most controversial.
It is alleged that it gives 5% better fuel economy than a a standard Automatic
& cheaper to manufacture yet there seems to be a lot of concern about the cost
of repairs when the bugger-up.
Life expectancy, towing etc seem to be problematic:
