I'm not saying that MAK would intentionally hurt BON just that remaining listed would be worse than the other 2 alternatives. ie better to knock it back or get over 90% and be acquired.

Also they can't just buy shares on market, either during the takeover offer (it's an off market scrip bid) or afterwards.
