On appointing judges, it's always a difficult one, I think there was a recent case of one judge who was ill didn't want to die until after the transition of power so that the democrats got to elect her replacement.

Do they appoint judges who have a leaning towards interpretation of the law in a manner that more aligns with their thinking, I guess they probably do. But that doesn't mean the judge is acting partially, just that the judges impartial decision is more often likely to favour you than another judges impartial decision may.

Calling for someone to show courage doesn't seem to be calling for them to break their oaths, but perhaps that depends on your pre conceived political beliefs.

An example of someone showing courage perhaps would be if Biden discontinued the show trial of impeachment (and let the real legal trials deal with criminal issues) and used it as a rally to help heal the wounds in Americas great divide. Can he be courageous? and no I am not calling for him to break any oaths.
