Despite your so called negative view, i think you're thinking a step ahead. Hiring (ie young blood) will come as projects unfold, and will undoubtedly form a part of moving those projects forward.
Having said that, as a side note, i know just as many younger generation who have no clue about tech as i do older generation. Real tech always has and always will be a bit nerdy, nothing to do with age imo.
