Charting plots human behaviour and sentiment towards a stock. We went up 13.5% on Friday but didn't get an announcement, by your rationale that's not possible. Charting applies to every stock out there regardless of size. You don't buy in to a stock when it's trending down and you'll only see that it's trending down by looking at it's chart.
