Although scientists believe the vaccinations will work on the 'UK' mutation of covid virus, there is no guarantee this will be the case for future variants. Further, the time it will take to vaccinate the world will be years. There is a strong need for treatments - and RECCE could be the answer.
But as others have commented, the main benefits of COVID-19 for RECCE has been publicity and (possibly) some regulatory fast tracking if it continues to show efficacy. The real money make is sepsis - not as trendy but the numbers speak for themselves.
