You forgot to mention the massive 'overhead' this creates for the price to return back to previous levels. While the drilling outcome may be highly positive, they still need to pull it out of the ground, and sell the actual resource and by that time, the 'wolves' have taken their bite and left.
I dont like trading speculative minerals, its the easiest way to get trapped in these situations.
I hope we've learnt our lesson.
