Dont be too hard on the old chap as every thing named in the state after Jervois in pronounced as Jervois not "jarvis". As he (pursell) is the closest one born at that time we can only assume that the name pronunciation changed between the 1800s and when the company began. After all he is a late comer in terms of the length of time that the company has been operating. (Using the term operating very loosly.)
