I think you are right to question everything. I think unless they are obviously hitting the ball put of the park ie 100 % perfect then nearly every announcement from every biotech is "spun" to suit the story. I thinknthat is perfectly understandable to get best outcome for the company but makes it hard as an investor to translate if results are truly good or not.
I have spent a lot of time trying to figure why they were comparing rce with soframycin in burns trial, as for a non medical layman like me just googling, soframycin doesn't appear to be the default burns go to treatment. I could be wrong, likely am. Same with the covid trials when we were all disputing what is a "log" reduction in viral load. If it had 100% destroyed covid we wouldn't be discussing log scales. That being said some seemed to think the log reduction referred to 90% reduction in viral load. If that was the case why wouldn't they just say that as surely that is much clearer for the average investor like me.
speaking generally on biotech and market in general, I certainly have no doubt every word that is written in market updates is true and honest. It may sometimes just be spun in such a way that it is hard to tell what the true facts are in layman's terms and if the news is "really" good or not.
