My understanding is that the pharmacy pays $200-$300 per month to have the app; this allows them to SMS/Text clients as a reminder that medication has come in etc (there is a small fee that the pharmacy pays for each SMS I think). It costs the patient nothing, but does provide a convenience for the pharmacy (if the patient signs up, it will retain their medication history, their scripts, refills etc). The patient pays if they use online payment or delivery.

I've spoken to a few pharmacists on the app, and some feel its great (and actually one told me he can't believe its so cheap for how much time it saves), while another said they don't go out of their way to promote it as there is a fear that they may lose the patient (to an online option or a cheaper pharmacy that does not provide face to face service).
