My understanding is inventory is used to mitigate those risks you describe. The company aims to have 30-40k t in inventory about 1-2 months worth.
I have been investing in mining companies for a long time and I can’t think of one case of lighting strikes causing havoc
heavy rain yes
typhoons yes
mine wall failures yes
sea barrier failures yes
plant equipment failure yes
grade issues - yes
geology issues - hardness of ore etc - yes
extraction issues - yes
tailings dam issues yes

lighting strike - nope - this is not to say it doesn’t happen , I am sure it does occasionally but I wouldn’t rate is as a high risk .
this is why I called the mining part of the operation low risk , not no risk , but low risk. Low risk is dig up with simple process , seperate Mineral sands via simple dredging , take to port, load onto ship , get paid , no leaching , no smelters , no underground mine shafts .. etc etc
