I picked up some Zip's this morning. As many of you know, I have been a long term APT bull and continue to be, although the valuation is looking pretty stretched ATM IMO. The sealer for me was yesterday's announcement and in particular the performance of Quadpay - the revenue yield of 7% was very impressive and shows the benefit of the $1 fee per instalment payment which doesn't seem to be having any negative impacts on consumer perception/growth.
I don't subscribe to the back of the envelope "valuation" in yesterday's AFR article basically because I believe that the TTV generated in ANZ is of very little value. For me, this investment is all about Quadpay which I believe is worth $6b-$10b ($11-$18 share).
Out of interest, does anyone have a theory on how Zip managed to purchase Quadpay at what looks like an absolute steal?
