After reading that article again, it's obvious to me that Scumo is in a real pickle. Government is still to come with any comprehensive policy and plan to support renewables and EV adoption. The rest of world is currently leaving us behind and our standing amongst countries that have adopted the Paris Climate Accord is going to start hurting big business in this country. I suppose that is why we are seeing corporations taking it upon themselves to act. By the time any EV subsidy incentive is offered, price parity will already have been reached in ROW. The problem is without considerable uptake and incentive, an adequate charging network and smart grid will not be in place. They had better get cracking as we are already becoming a laughing stock amongst other more progressive countries. Remember the lump of coal. Cuba springs to mind with the vehicles we will be driving.
