JORC (and all similar codes) are fairly verbose and broad in nature. They are not directly prescriptive on what to do, rather that is left to the Competent Person to decide.
There are well entrenched industry best practices (within Australia, some variation globally) but you won’t find the detail in JORC. You could read some of the leading companies Table 1’s. The CIM (Canadian institute of mining) does have a best practice guideline that is good. Otherwise technical papers and AusIMM or AIG publications are the place to look.
One of the main reasons BBX’s metallurgy samples are not JORC compliant currently is the absence of QAQC protocols. Due to the customised analysis process, they have no CRM’s to test accuracy. They have no blanks to test contamination. They have no umpire samples to independently test precision.
