Why didn't they do this before? Probably the farmer demanded $10m with threats of going to the Supreme Court to delay the project. Realised he would probably get less that what the Wardens Court would recommend and took the golden tractor offer. No doubt got more than what the land was worth but in the end everyone benefits.
What is abundantly clear is that RMS were not acting poorly as has been posted here with absolutely no proof.
I imagine that RMS will be getting a few calls from farmers hoping they drill and hit gold on their land as well.
