OK so during the day we have energy derived directly from the sun through the solar cells.

At night we have energy derived from the sun VIA chemically stored energy (flourescence) through the solar cells.

No need for a battery farm. Just a trillion or so glow worm equivalent glow sticks.

Oh, and in relation to the car paint thing, there is a 'suped up' prius made by the University of Technology Sydney that has the capacity to be charged directly from a residential power source AND more importantly contribute back into the grid via a power outlet.

So if the suped prius is painted with the special TiO2 polymer it can literally be the 'battery farm' required.
