There is very poor talent pool in Parliaments at all levels.
Some of the problems are lack of term limits, and no minimum age to be an MP. Too many of them start in their teens, doing dirtywork, learning where the skeletons are buried. They they progress to advisor and score a safe seat because of the network they have built up.
By 30 they are inflicting their idiocy on voters and the nation, sometimes for 30 years.
And they should not be paid anything, maybe a limited travelling allowance. In the good old days it was mainly people in their 50's who had established another income.
