Oppies are an outrageous "magic pudding" to these blokes most of the time. If the share price doesn't rise and put oppies in the money they will just issue more next year ad infinitum until they finally make a motsa.
They get to swan around running their own show for $300k pa plus expenses/perks. Far from incentivising these blokes to keep them you couldn't get them out with a crowbar and dissident shareholders at an EGM. They fight tooth and nial to hang onto a good thing. Where are they going for a cushy $300K board position in this market??
Don't look now but everyone in the world is taking a pay cut or hours cut just to hang onto a job. Do we really need to ply ME with millions more free upside oppies on an ALL OR NOTHING oil punt that is already set in motion to stay on a good wicket???
I think we all know the answer to that.
