the thing is retail holders are growing in number and making more money specially those employees in tech that get stock bonuses to supplement income. these same employees also consider themselves as revolutionaries fighting against the man. (not the executive just the employees)

Ability to earn passive income is also becoming more popular and understood among common ppl
(i.e those that dont have the necessary market education)

If ASX or ASIC do anything to regulate retail holders with double standards especially in todays world as we can see with Robinhood to protect the sophs they are going to get murdered.

The worst thing for sophs would be retailers becoming disillusioned and walking away and not being able to access new money.

I actually applaud these hedge funds being destroyed right now because public sentiment won't stand for govt bail outs in the middle of a pandemic

What I think the ASIC should be looking at is having these hedge fund billionaires sitting on the board of the ASX as well as be part of the executive team that dictates policy in many occasions for their competition!

Also what they should be looking at are these experts being brought on by their ass kissing financial media houses to sway market sentiment without disclosing their positions.

Thats why platforms like hotcopper, etc are useful (not to say manipulation doesn't go on here) but at least having an educated discussion between ppl sharpens ones skills and allows smaller holders to assess actual market sentiment so as to not get destroyed by manipulators.

Sorry for the rant I just find it fascinating that these sophs are sitting in such a bubble not understanding that ppl are getting smarter and that their skills are learned not inherited and are still operating like they were 10yrs ago.

Ill be sure to start a diff thread next time.
