I have a feeling "ASIC" is an important party to this announcement. Who else would have forced the retraction? ASX?
I agree that it “validates statements made by the Company in its ASX release on 22 October 2020 concerning Mr Breeze’s continuing appointment as director of MEC.” But what it also does is invalidate the statement which is quoted in the announcement in italics specifically “Mr Breeze was removed in contravention to the Corporations Act”. I think what really happened here is, if a legal claim was made, it would need to be actioned, and since they don’t want to sue themselves… they just dropped it. So they are trying to passively say Breeze "continues" as director as a way to say the removal never happened. Bit complicated by some nice word usage to get around the issue.
