I am not aware of any, but that does not mean that all of these governments have got it right either.
Could be just a case of "monkey see, monkey do".
Anyway, the current thinking, as stated by the IMF, is that the old cash giveaways make people feel good for a while, but don't have any long term benefit.
The opposition here has been consistent. They have said from the start, that the tax cuts should be brought forward, instead of cash splurges, and that the main priority was infrastructure aimed at preparing the Country for when economic situations improve eg ports, roads, rail etc. (not pink roofing bats and green bikeways)
Hope I don't get a holiday for have a conflicting opinion.
