Interesting - very doomy gloomy!

When we talk cost, I think of the high cost of an MRI Machine (i.e. it is capital intensive for a hospital) which means there is a lack of availability of MRI's meaning longer wait times for patients seeking lung diagnostics vs accessing x-ray / 4dx.

Also argument that it frees up MRI's for more important uses than lung scans and means hospitals don't have to spend additional millions as their MRI is at capacity?

Also, in Australia we have medicare but in the states they do not so would assume patients are SUPER cost-conscious? if you're being offered a test at 160 bucks vs 600 bucks... ?

As someone who has MRI's regularly in Australia, the wait is annoying and it is VERY expensive...
