The chap in the podcast suggests that Intel has fallen behind Samsung and TSMC in their ability to manufacture at the cutting edge/ highest level. Intel has lost customers for that reason and the progress of in house design.
So yeah, Intel fits for a few reasons. Add in the Dadi connection and the recent interaction with Leti. Maybe these old boys know what they are doing?
Purely speculation but experience and connections are plain to see.
