Hi Branded
The technical detail I believe regarding the ADE has been disclosed previously you just need to deep dig into the web site and the ADE download on Py to access it. In fact the ADE was made generally available to the world early 2020 after having only been available to select companies in 2019.
I agree that the shipping of the Boards is arguably marketing and not material when you read announcements from Brainchip surrounding the receiving of the silicon from Socionext and thereafter up to this announcement as I had no doubt from my readings that Boards had been shipped before this announcement came out.
Where I find the market sensitive material for me is in the following and I have made bold and underlined the relevant parts:
BrainChip CEO, Louis DiNardo commented, “The Akida NSoC has proven to provide
significant power savings and is the complete integration of a neural network design. Akida
introduces new and powerful features to the high-growth AI Edge market.” He continued,
“True AI Edge learning does not exist with current AI solutions and our ability to provide this
and other features while significantly reducing both power consumption, size and the Bill-of Materials (BOM)
has attracted the attention of leading suppliers in the Smart Home, Smart
Transportation and Smart City markets. We believe that these capabilities also will provide
new solutions in Smart Healthcare applications that serve our mission of supporting
Beneficial AI applications and improve the human condition globally in terms of diagnosis of
infectious diseases, cancers and a wide array of challenging global health concerns. We are
excited about our technology and the potential to impact many industries including
healthcare and energy conservation which are clearly a global concern.”The following is the definition of Bill of Materials downloaded from Wiki with respect to the semiconductor industry. Brainchip's CEO is a semiconductor industry man through and through and knows how to correctly use all the jargan and technical terms of this industry so I always take notice of the jargan and technical terms that he uses either in his oral presentations or as in this case direct speech quotations attributed to him in announcements. Again I have made bold and underlined the part of the definition that is most pertinent
"Abill of materialsorproduct structure(sometimesbill of material,BOMorassociated list) is a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts, and the quantities of each needed to manufacture anend product. A BOM may be used for communication between manufacturing partners or confined to a single manufacturing plant. A bill of materials is often tied to a production order whose issuance may generate reservations for components in the bill of materials that are in stock and requisitions for components that are not in stock."This quotation from the CEO clearly predates the partnership which he spoke about in the Healthcare area (VOC detection) in December and he has separated Smart Home, Smart Transportation and Smart City markets for the purpose of those customers who have received BOM's from Smart Health Care because there was no partnership in place. There is no doubt that at the time of this announcement VOC detection was well advanced but as I say there was no partnership at that stage so it was separated to make clear Smart Home, Smart Transportation and Smart City engagements were far more developed at the time of the announcement.
Now if you take the announced partnerships at that point with Socionext (for Synquacer), Valeo and Ford it does seem that Smart Home and Smart City markets are as advanced as Smart Transport with BOM's acrosss all three but the names of the customers for commercial in confidence reasons are not being revealed. However it is reasonable to say that when this announcement was released on 7 August, 2020 they were just as advanced as the engagements with Valeo and Ford and well ahead of any engagements for Smart Health applications.
So as I thought at the time and continue so to believe we are but one breath away every day from an announcement detailing the engagements in Smart Home and Smart City markets.
My opinion only DYOR.
