OT. Just fyi. This thread has been going for over ten years I hate to think!

It was quite different back then and DTing was hardly even a thing. I had no clue whatsoever having come from a pay your broker background. ($70 in and $70 out with Mac Bank was minimum charge. No charts to speak of. Market was recovering from Global Financial Crisis (altho that was nothing compared to nowadays, just peeps took it more seriously. lol)

We mostly learnt the ropes and got online accounts during the Tech boom and then bust.

After that there were a few excellent traders who must have been semi-pro from somewhere who helped us newbies out. PJ Simon was a legend back then. The guy who started the DT thread went bust and moved to the bush. There is hardly anyone left from those days.

So rather than just ramp stocks that I'm trapped in I would rather try to get peeps to think about how they trade. It was very collegiate back then and 'ramping' wasn't even a word.

The trick has always been to select stocks with the best risk v reward. Basic TA gives you the safety zones and experience helps you assess the potential. Try not to lose too much while you're learning and don't take too much notice of peeps who try to tell you how and what to trade. tongue.png
