We don't need deaths from influenza to increase the saleability of Relenza! A wake-up call to the burgeoning world population (with its ever more intensively reared animals) that the microbial world has the capability to surprise and the possiblity those surprises will one day prove less than benign, should be good for business.
In addition this flu outbreak validates the WHO's policies of preparation, stockpiling anti-virals etc and so far as those anti-virals are concerned it is pleasing to see that they have been effective. Maybe it is the use of these in countries outside of Mexico that has contributed to the lack of serious symptoms in those affected.
When the speculators have taken flight, BTA will slowly head to the $3 or more, and is increasingly likely to be acquired - Daiichi Sankyo being an obvious candidate.
