    Billy,

Cant quite understand what you are so unhappy about:
    - Are you anhappy that the doom and gloom stories about impending water shortages are mostly just that, gloom and doom stories

    - Are you unhappy that this "problem" can be so easily restated to one that is obviously more a shortfall in the application of existing technology and development of new technology and the adjustment of both our usage and the technology to supply the volumes we decide we need to something more rational

I kind of like this line as an view into your way of thinking: "And I like to think of myself as a capitalist Thurlow, not a parasite."

Does that extend to all those who also propose that you should pay a fair price for your gasoline, sugar and other necessities of life?

What else do you put on your must be free list?

In this world, particularly in the welfare economies like Australia, there is a selection of the community that come to believe that the government must be responsible to pay for them to be supplied with everything between birth and death.

Remember, with water it is about technology, technology, technology....
    It always has been...

In case you havent noticed, it has been that was for many many years (since the stone age I would guess)
