The article highlights a significant risk which afaik hasn't been canvassed in the forum so far - i.e. the potential for civil unrest or mass protests to trigger a (possibly violent) military crack down. Any such crackdown would massively ramp up pressure from western powers and may result in more severe sanctions than would otherwise be the case.
