All very valid points made there....and it's not like team BIT are strangers to the community in regards to HIV research or lack the go-to people should they feel confident with any most recent data on Covid. Humans naturally expect outbreaks like this to blow over, and what about the contrast with some nations being almost free of the virus and others rampant. It's very clear we are all in this for the duration and creating a new vaccine at hyper-speed every time a new gremlin arrives is lunacy. We need broad-spectrum ante-virals available to everybody rich and poor. This is where I think back to legends like P Gage and perhaps we are right to think about the 'holy grail' if our science gets the focus it deserves. I'm still sharing this video with colleagues because I'm excited about our potential.
