For better or worse a dividend or buy back will definitely help propel the SP higher and I think shareholders could use a bit more or that after a very long downtrend period.
Unless there is a serious acquisition on the horizon I think management will declare a dividend, this stock has historically been a dividend income play and us kiwis do love our dividends so even if it isn't the best use of capital I think management are likely to fold and give us something this report.
Personally I'm not too bothered, like you I don't care too much about short term movements, I'm happy to go along with what the management team feel is best at this point in time .
