Valid shorting is ok then. It's only predatory short selling that you are worried about. So, MSB is the subject of valid attacks or predatory short selling? You seem to accept valid shorting is reasonable according to your definition. Over priced stock,speculation and dodgy management etc. But this surely doesn't apply to MSB? Predatory short selling in Australia? I'm scratching my head to find cases here. Do you have any examples in recent times?
