I have given my thoughts on that outcome several times, ie Highly doubtful
The Register is far too tightly held for any "Hostile" takeover to even gain momentum
The ASWF have a substantial holding that they would want to maintain, nobody is going to mine in Angola without their consent.
BP has up until recently been an Oil company, Yes they could hire the Expertise but why bother when they can get what they need thru commerce.
The Price tag would be exorbitant, most Investors already realize that this is a US$5++ Billion dollar Company, I currently have it at US$6B. And nobody has yet factored in the "Perfect Storm" which could conceivably see NdPr at 300k/t giving PRE a MC of US$25 Billion within 24 months.
Nd & Pr Oxides are still cheap, especially when you consider that "Ginger" is currently selling at comparative prices, and that while an EV uses around 1Kg of NdPr in its electric motors over its lifetime, my wife goes thru at least 5Kg of Ginger per annum !.
