the cartel was allegedly formed after a meeting earlier this decade, the $1.5bn is based on the presumption it existed at least 10 years earlier...that was investigated by the ACCC and no charges were laid....(this is from the article you quoted in the Australian).....by the way, Fels was at the funeral last week.

So the $1.5bn is a totally unproven allegation from a disgruntled ex employee. If these kind of profits were being made by the cartel how do you explain Amcor's (lack of) profit performance?

Anyway people will believe what they want. I believe he made a very positive and significant contribution despite his faults and we're lucky he came to this country. I hope his example of philanthropy is followed because it's generally lacking here compared to some other wealthy countries.
