Cheers LG, being open to instruction is an important attribute for investors. And life in general.

While I think of it, when you take into account forthcoming and possible exploration, you need to remember that most oil and/or gas exploration wells are either dry or sub economic. Future project developments, in a mature gas province like Bass/Otway/Gippsland, are usually timed in regard to expected natural field decline in existing projects.

While we are here- considering the dominance of the Bass Strait JV. While the BSJV has dominated over the decades, it has meant that other projects have been less attractive. Majors have offloaded gas finds to the oil and gas minnows. Sole was discovered by Shell in about 1971 but was not worth the effort while Shell could apply its capital better elsewhere. This has allowed COE to pick up gas fields that back in the day were not that attractive. Now, drum roll, the time has come for other Bass Strait/Otway/Gippsland gas finds to shine. This puts COE and BPT etc into position A.

Then consider that LNG into Asia should increase coming out of covid- hence LNG will be even more lucrative for CSG producers and decrease Qld gas coming into the Eastern States market.

I have used fairly broad brush strokes for the above- of course there are other factors- but it is looking mostly upside for COE going forward.

    Fix that gas plant.

    IMHO DYOR
