Clearly if they don't invest more in marketing they're only ever going to be tied to GM's ecosystem, and I thought that's the message they received from investors last year, and why they are doing something about it. When you're cash flow positive for a few cycles you can have the confidence to do this. It's a bit late coming, but they've made a good start, and they're not starting from nowhere, so it may be achievable quickly.
This is still way underalued on fundamentals, so I don't know what you expect. It was shareholders who sold today, not management.
