If this was the case, then the SP would never move much either way on half year or full year reporting, would it?
"Charts NEVER lie and the market is ALWAYS right" are silly cliches. It will always depend on your trading horizon and there will always be the potential for surprises. Charts are useful in the absence of information on the fundamentals. But they obviously cannot tell you what those fundamentals will be with 100% certainty on reporting day, let alone 1 year from now.
