The key for me is the Specificity and Sensitivity.
In other words Specificity means that people who are without the disease of Ovarian cancer- have a negative test.
Important- as you don't have to go down the loop of pelvic u/s, Ct and laparoscopy. You can reassure.
Sensitivity means you pick up all those who do have early ovarian cancer regardless of what the other tests say- so you pursue it to the 'Nth' degree, as the care provider.
CEA (the current test) is useless as a screening Tool. U/S a little better. Only 1 in 40 positive tests have ovarian cancer. That's a lot of stupid anxiety for the woman.
As I said early days, small sample.
But this would be a game changer and for big Pharma it's a easy pick up - If the believe the veracity of the science and the management team.
