Had a chat this week with a medical professional I know re the claimed biofilm busting products such as those being promoted by NXS. I didn’t disclose my interest as I wasn’t seeking advice on my investment. I was interested in their clinical opinion on the subject. They admitted to having received marketing from Zimmer, (which NXS said they were going to do). However, they admitted they were skeptical, noting in general that initial product research for any new product is usually company sponsored, and until more independent studies are done on these products, their view wouldn’t change.
That said, they did say that if the product actually disrupted biofilm as claimed, it would be a huge advance for surgery, biggest thing in years.
The medical fraternity is very conservative, and probably the more innovative some product, the more cautiously is it approached and appraised. But they really do have the best interests of their patients front and centre to their decision making, so time will tell.
If these products by NXS really work as claimed, I think shareholders have every right to be pissed at NXS management if they fail to execute, and not make the company a huge success.
That Zimmer Biomet are involved is a positive for me. They’ve got a very solid reputation so I can’t see why they would partner with NXS if the surgical wash didn’t work. It would make no sense to tarnish their name by associating with NXS if it was bogus. What, just for a quick buck till it was found t NXS was bs? Zimmer would not want to be associated with a dodgy product that doesn’t perform as claimed. Anyone want a J&J hip prosthetic?
